 C. W. Ayon was NOLAGirl's special guest on the April 10th edition of Shades of the Blues, starting at 7 pm. C. W. is a native New Mexican but his soul is rooted in the blues of the Mississippi Blues Country. After learning how to play the guitar (with help from his wife, Carol, a trained musician) C. W. brought his blues influence to a few Las Cruces bands in the mid- 2000s. After those bands disbanded, C. W. opted to go solo and developed a one-man-band approach, accompanying his guitar playing and singing with his own beats on a simple simple kick/snare and tambourine setup. Besides his live performances, C. W. has been releasing albums since 2009. He's won two New Mexico Music Awards - best blues song for "Seen My Baby" in 2010 and "End of My Rope" in 2013. |
