Her opponent, Christopher Schoonover, was invited to attend - and accepted the invitation - but didn't show up for the broadcast. Mr. Goodman is looking into what happened, because Mr. Schoonover had expressed enthusiasm about appearing.

On the September 17th edition of La Politica New Mexico, host Dr. Jose Garcia presided over a discussion with Angelica Rubio, incumbent State Representative for District 35, and Kim Hakes, incumbent County Commissioner for District 5. Joining the discussion were Shirley Baca, Arturo Uribe, and Dolores Connor. The primary question: How well are we being governed by the state legislature and the County Commission?
On the September 12th edition of Speak Up, Las Cruces, hosts Peter Goodman and Walt Rubel were scheduled to have a discussion between the two Dona Ana County Commission District I candidates. However, John Zimmerman wasn't able to make it, so they talked to Lynn Ellins exclusively. In the first part you can hear them stalling a little bit as they were hoping Mr. Zimmerman would show up. Since a new county clerk had been hired the day before, they started the show with a discussion about that before getting into Mr Ellins' background, qualifications and views.

Shirley Baca) presided over a roundtable discussion with a powerhouse "A-team" of local political observers - Louis Biad, Arturo Uribe and Ken Glove.
