Most of us probably have no idea of what it means to be a court interpreter, we likely think that just having a mastery of two languages is good enough. A few weeks ago, Nan Rubin had the opportunity to speak with Cynthia Herber, who is relatively new to Las Cruces. She came here to be an official Spanish language Court Interpreter for the Federal courts in the District in New Mexico. Cynthia explained in detail what it means to have this responsibility and how important it is for people who don't speak English to have fair access to our court system.
