
![]() Former U. S. Ambassador to South Africa Delano Lewis conversed with Lynn Moorer about his memoir, No Condition is Permanent: A Collection of Memories. A native Kansan who attended law school in Topeka, his career includes service in Nigeria and Uganda with the U. S. Peace Corps, staff assistance for legislators in Washington, D. C., two decades with a phone company that became Verizon, service as President of National Public Radio, and service as Ambassador to South Africa in the Clinton Administration. Among other things, he related how he organized to fight Speaker Newt Gingrich’s goal to defund public broadcasting in the mid-1990s. Comments are closed.
