All About Books: Carol Potenza
Hillerman prize winner and NMSU biochemistry professor Carol Potenza chatted with Lynn Moorer about her first novel, Hearts of the Missing, a mystery involving murder of victims because of their genetic makeup. Her protagonist is Pueblo Police Sargeant Nicky Matthews, a non-Indian regarded as having second sight, who is assigned to investigate the apparent suicide of a young woman linked to a list of missing Fire-Sky tribal members from the Tsiba’ashi D’yini Indian Reservation located in New Mexico. Even when her superiors appear ready to discipline her for insubordination, she continues to investigate.
