On Wednesday night July 6, KTAL-LP and Film Las Cruces will be presenting a special free evening of films to celebrate 50 years of the independent film organization Women Make Movies. The showing will be at 7:00 at the Rio Grande Theatre, and Project Founder Ariel Dougherty will be there to present four short documentaries and discuss her films. A longtime resident of Truth or Consequences, filmmaker Dougherty was Nan Rubin’s guest on the phone and she was be joined in the studio by Anthony Jara of Film Las Cruces and Greg Smith, Executive Director of the Doña Ana Arts Council. This film event is supported by the New Mexico Humanities Council and the Devasthali Family Fund.
Today's multi-dimensional conversation with Liz Liano shares her poetry and her experience in our community. Liz is engaged in art, journalism, poetry, music, mental health, her role as President of NAMI of Southern NM, and her work with Influence Magazine, based in Alamogordo NM. Rich and fruitful. Liz brought to Think Again a candid, and thought-provoking exploration of our times.
Las Cruces Bulletin publisher Richard Coltharp and writer Mike Cook gave a recap the week's news and previewed upcoming events as they highlighted some of the articles in the latest edition of the newspaper. They also talked with Barb Ross and Susan Yasenka from the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra, who talk about their new conductors and what to look forward to in the upcoming season.
