Volunteer At KTAL
KTAL-LP is an all volunteer organization. That means we need people not only to help us financially, but also to provide the behind-the-scenes support that a radio station requires.
To put it simply, we need you!
We're also very flexible. Do you have time to volunteer several hours every week or only a few hours a month? Either way, the time you can give to support community radio will be much appreciated! Many of the tasks can be done entirely at home on your own schedule! Or you can come to the station to work with a group of great people.
The biggest need we have right now is control room operators, the people that get our shows on the air and make our hosts and guests on our talk and interview shows sound as good as possible. For the most part, we need people in the morning hours from 7:30 to 9:15 am. We don't require any experience and will give you plenty of training and assistance before we'll ask you to handle a show on your own.
But we have a lot of other jobs that need doing, including -

- Tech support: Maintain audio and PC equipment; help with remote broadcasts
- Program production: Prepare shows for airing; record video and audio; edit audio
- Social media/content: Take photos of hosts, guests, station events; create graphics; Help manage Facebook postings and perhaps additional future social media accounts
- Fundraising: Contact business, assist with setting up events, assemble station newsletter, maintain email lists
- Leadership: Join our Board of Directors or our programming committee; coordinate volunteers
- Hosting a show
- Clerical work, such as sending out T-shirts, checking phone messages
- Light housekeeping
