LOST HIGHWAY WITH JEFF FRAWLEY
Monday 8-9pm
Jeff Frawley's love for music and radio began while growing up in the '90s in Minneapolis, where he listened to thrilling college, alternative, and community radio stations late into the night when he should have been asleep. Since then, his tastes have expanded to embrace a wide variety of genres, eras, and musical interests. Following graduate school at NMSU, he lived abroad in Budapest, Hungary and also in Indiana, where he taught and hosted a music program at Ball State University, before returning to Las Cruces in 2018. For fifteen years he has taught English and creative writing at universities and community colleges, and currently is Professor of English and Chair of Fine Arts and Humanities at ENMU-Ruidoso. He loves working with students on their writing and their creative publications, and he looks for any opportunity to bring music into the classroom (and to learn about new music from younger generations). After listening to KTAL for the past several years, he is thrilled to have his own program on the air.
Lost Highway features eclectic underground music suited for long drives through the desert at night. Showcasing moody, vibe-heavy tracks from a variety of classic and contemporary genres—indie, rockabilly, electronic, punk, garage rock, blues, R&B, funk, Afrobeat— Lost Highway keeps things weird, wild, and wonderful for all those listeners out there cruising the roads and airwaves.
