EARTH MATTERS WITH KEVIN BIXBY & AMANDA MUNRO
Tuesday at 10-11am rebroadcast on Thursday at 9-10am

Earth Matters looks at regional, national and global conservation issues. Join Kevin Bixby and Amanda Munro for conversations with experts and activists.
Earth Matter cohosts Kevin Bixby and Amanda Munro are new to radio but no strangers to environmental topics. Kevin is the executive director of the Southwest Environmental Center, a group he helped to found in 1992 dedicated to protecting and restoring wildlife and their habitats in the Southwest. SWEC also happens to be the license holder for KTAL-LP after Kevin's application for a low-powered station was accepted by the FCC in 2014. Amanda is SWEC's Communication Director and Field Organizer. After getting her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Portland in Environmental Ethics & Policy, and Spanish, she relocated to Las Cruces as a VISTA volunteer assigned to the BLM. It wasn't long before she found her way to SWEC, first as an intern and eventually as a full-time staff member.
Kevin and Amanda share a passion for protecting the planet. Although neither has any previous radio experience, they make a great on-air team as the Las Cruces/KTAL contingent for Earth Matters, which they host on the first Tuesday of the month (usually). Other cohosts include Allyson Siwik, executive director of the Gila Resources Information Project, and Donna Stevens, executive director of the Upper Gila Watershed Alliance, who hosts their shows from KTAL's sister station KURU-FM in Silver City. Earth Matters is broadcast simultaneously on both stations on Tuesdays at 10 am.
