The Las Cruces Bulletin, one of two local newspapers, brings the public the latest news, entertainment features and upcoming events on a weekly basis. The privately owned newspaper is distributed free to 15,000 residences and 5,000 news racks and stands at more than 200 locations throughout the city. The Osteen family in South Carolina also publishes the monthly Desert Exposure, a regional outdoor, arts and leisure publication in its 25th year. The Bulletin has a staff of 10 and 15 contract delivery people.
“The role we want to play is that of a leading citizen,” says Coltharp, who’s also spent time at newspaper companies in Alamogordo, Arkansas and Oklahoma. “We strive to be engaged, informed and deeply caring about our community.” More recently, in the face of Covid-19 that has increased demand for the latest pandemic developments, Coltharp and his staff have launched the eBulletin. What started as a weekly online publication has quickly morphed into an almost daily news digest that’s been extremely popular with Las Crucens.
Coltharp extends his sincere thanks during the pandemic to his advertisers “as businesses struggle during this time. We’re working with all of our advertisers, and potential advertisers, offering special pricing, payment plans and other options to make sure anyone who wants to advertise can find a place in our products.”
Richard also did a great job as the MC for the Roadrunner Revue! Thanks to Richard and The Bulletin for their support!
