KTAL Radio has been invited to contribute a selection of programs to be preserved by the American Archive of Public Broadcasting! AAPB is a collaboration between WGBH in Boston and the Library of Congress, with the mission “to preserve and make accessible…at-risk public media…” Hundreds of public radio and television stations have preserved thousands of hours of local programs in both analog and digital formats.
The project has a special grant to include local public radio and television productions from New Mexico, and we have been asked to contribute “local news and culturally-oriented programming reflecting our unique community.” With plenty of excellent material recorded over four years of broadcasting, we are delighted to join this important national preservation effort! For more information visit https://americanarchive.org/.
More Las Cruces Stories!
For a second year in a row, New Mexico Arts has awarded a grant to KTAL to produce a series of Las Cruces Stories! We are grateful for their support and vote of confidence for our work. The new series will be produced between August 2021 and May 2022. For more details visit https://www.lccommunityradio.org/lcstories.html.
Data Deets Is Coming!
Stay tuned in July for the premiere of our new feature Data Deets! These short productions will tell stories using statistics of Doña Ana County, and will include how to get available resources. Produced in partnership with the Center for Community Analysis at NMSU, we hope these spots will provide a new way to share data details describing how local conditions and policies can be improved. Funding provided by the New Mexico Local News Initiative.
