Walt and Peter speak with Daisy Maldonado, head of the Empowerment Congress of Dona Ana County.
One of the ways we celebrate important occasions and life is with dance. In that sentiment. Host Greg Smith features Joshua Peugh and Chad El-Khoury of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance to discuss their own paths to dance, the special event they have planned for August, past events they’ve brought here, and ways that we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in the USA.
Dr. James Rice, Professor of Sociology at New Mexico State University, shares some thoughts about what many people call collective madness, mass psychosis, or mass hysteria. We peek into some of the dynamics that lead to collective, frenzied, irrational states of mind. We touch on propaganda, media manipulation, fear, hate, delusion, and the demonizing of others. We look at some of the risks and perceived rewards of tribalism and ideological groupthink. Enjoy a thought-provoking exploration of problematic elements of the human psyche that have defined much of our history and continue to shape our world today.
Lisa Lucca has a delightful conversation with award-winning photographer and author Lisa Levart about her work, being seen, and how Fate can point us in the right direction with the single turn of a tarot card.
